Cream Cheese Wontons Recipe INGREDIENTS
  • 1 16 oz. can crab meat (or use fresh)
  • 1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 2 scallions, minced
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • egg yolk
  • peanut oil
  • Purchased Wonton skins or sheets

Combine crab, cream cheese, scallions, A-1 sauce and garlic powder. Moisten edge of wonton skin with egg yolk. Place 1 teaspoon of crab mixture on skin. Wet edges of wonton skin with water.   • 1 1/2 lbs. ready-made wonton wrappers
  • 3 c. peanut oil

FILLING:
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1-2 c. imitation crab, flaked
CREAM CHEESE WONTONS RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Mix cream cheese and crab together well. Assembling the "wonton": Place 1 1/2 teaspoons of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. With a finger dipped in water, moisten the edges of the wrapper. Then bring one corner up over the filling to the opposite corner, but fold the wrapper at an angle so that two overlapping triangles are formed, with their points side by side and about 1/2 inch apart.

Pull the 2 bottom corners of the folded triangle forward and below the folded edge so that they meet one another and slightly overlap, to create a kind of frame around the mound of the filling. Moisten one end with a finger dipped in water and pinch the two ends firmly together.

As each "wonton" is finished place it on a plate and cover with a dry towel. Cook in 12 inch wok or 10 inch skillet filled with 3 cups of peanut oil a 375 degrees. Deep fry for about 2 minutes or until crisp and golden. Drain on paper towel. The cream cheese wontons recipe is ready to serve warm....nice ! Enjoy !

Wontons:
* 30 wonton wrappers
* 30 cherries (sweet)
* 100g cream cheese
* 20g icing sugar

To Cook

* Oil for deep frying

To Serve

* 20g icing sugar
* 200g Ice Cream of your choice (optional)

Wonton Filling: Mix the cream cheese with a the icing sugar in a bowl so that there is no lumps, Remove the stone from the centre of the cherries, try to keep them joined at the sides. Lay the wontons out on a clean surface, place a cherry in the center of each one and then place half a teaspoonful in the centre of each cherry where the stone was.
Dampen the sides of the wontons with water and gather together its corners giving it a small twist at so as to secure it.
To Cook: Heat some oil in a deep fryer, wok or large saucepan to 180C. When a wonton is placed in it, it should become crisp and golden and rise to the top. Cook the cherries in the oil 5 at a time for a couple of minutes, they should be crisp and golden, drain them on paper toweling and keep warm until ready to serve.
To Serve: Place generous spoonfuls of the ice cream in the center of 6 bowls and place the 5 wontons around the edge of each bowl. Dust the wontons with icing sugar and serve. The cherry wontons also make a brilliant sweet canapé. The cream cheese wontons recipe is ready ! Enjoy it with friends...

* 1 pkg. won-ton wrappers
* 1 tsp. garlic powder or herbs
* 14 oz. cream cheese, softened
* 1/4 cup green onions
* 2-3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce
* water
* pepper
* canola oil for frying
* crab meat (optional)

Cream Cheese Wontons Recipe INSTRUCTIONS

1. Pour canola oil into frying pan, about 1 inch deep. Preheat oil to 325 degrees.
2. Combine cream cheese, green onions, crab meat, garlic powder and a dash of pepper in a bowl.
3. Place 1 tsp of the filling from step 2, and place it in the center of a wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then the corners of the wonton wrapper together, completely covering the filling.
4. Carefully place the wontons in the pan (they are delicate!) and cook for 30 seconds on 1 minute, until they are golden brown.
5. Place cooked wontons on paper towel to drain.
6. Eat with orange sauce, soy sauce, or your favorite Oriental dipping sauce.

  • 6 oz. cream cheese
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup real or imitation crab meat
  • 1 package small wonton wrappers
CREAM CHEESE WONTONS RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Blend together ingredients. Drop 1 teaspoonful onto each of the wrappers.

Fold in corners and seal with egg white.
Fry in 365°F oil until crispy and brown.

CRAB AND CREAM CHEESE WONTONS

CRAB AND CREAM CHEESE WONTONS
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 pkg Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • 1 can crab meat, drained
  • 2 T flour or Wondra
  • 3 scallions, minced
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • oil for deep fryer
  • Wonton Wrappers

INSTRUCTIONS
Finely mince the scallions. Combine with cream cheese, crab meat, and flour or Wondra.

Beat the egg in a small bowl - this will be used to brush the edges of the wonton wrappers before folding, and helps to keep them together.

Place large tablespoonfuls of the crab mixture in the center of each wonton skin and brush edges with egg mixture. Fold over to form a triangle, then press edges together to seal.

Bring the two side edge corners of the triangle to the middle and press these together to form a ring.

Heat oil to 350 degrees in a large, heavy bottomed pan, sufficient to cover the wontons.

Fry wontons until golden, turning once, about 2-3 minutes. In order to avoid lowering the temperature of the oil, do not attempt to fry too many at once. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels and serve.

Variation: You can substitute the cream cheese and crab mixture with pre-packaged crab / seafood spread. Check the ingredients label and use only cream cheese based products. Add finely minced onions or scallions and use as above to fill wonton skins.
